History of the Thomas R. Hughes Booster Club
Our Beginning
Established in 2020, the Thomas R. Hughes Booster Club was formed by a group of dedicated friends and supporters of Thomas R. Hughes Sr. Our foundation, however, stretches back much further, rooted in a deep commitment to fraternity and community within the Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order Nobles Mystic Shrine of North and South America and Its Jurisdictions, Inc. (A.E.A.O.N.M.S.).
Thomas R. Hughes Sr. has been a distinguished member of this fraternity, contributing significantly since his election to the Board of Directors in 2008. His journey reached a new milestone in 2022 when he was elected Imperial Chief Rabban. Our club was created to rally around “Tommy” as he aspires to even greater heights in Shrinedom.
Our Evolution
Over the past few years, we have grown into a vibrant community. Our club actively supports Thomas R. Hughes Sr.’s goals, with a focus on fostering friendships, providing unwavering support, and ensuring his success in Shrinedom. We look forward to a significant milestone in New Orleans in 2024 and beyond.
Meet Thomas R. Hughes Sr.
Thomas R. Hughes Sr., a native of New Brunswick, NJ, has dedicated much of his life to fraternal service and education. With a BA in History from Rutgers University, he currently teaches Basic Skills Math & ELA for Grade 2 at McKinley Community School.
Within Shrinedom, Thomas has held numerous prestigious roles:
- Past Potentate of Khufu Temple No. 120, Trenton, NJ.
- Past Grand Master at Progressive Lodge No. 17 (MWPHGL of New Jersey).
- Grand Inspector General (33) at Ophir Consistory No. 48, AASR – Northern Jurisdiction.
- Life Member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
- Elected to the A.E.A.O.N.M.S. Board of Directors in 2008 and currently serves as Imperial Chief Rabban since 2022.

As part of the Prince Hall Shrinedom, A.E.A.O.N.M.S. has a rich history of over 128 years, with a strong focus on promoting self-improvement, community service, and educational advancement. It supports numerous charitable initiatives, including scholarships, medical research, and community development programs.
